In the unlikely event that you've been busy working instead of reading every single Pacejet Blog posting (and printing them to write notes in the margins), it's possible you might have missed a few Pacejet feature updates.
Pacejet released the 14.3 platform update late last year and the 15.1 platform update in January of 2015, so there have been quite a few major and minor feature updates in the last few months. For today's post, we thought we'd single out a few shipping features for NetSuite users that might have been missed, hopefully as a surprise gift for a few users wondering "I wish we could..."

Shipping for Transfer Orders
Shipping for Transfer OrdersIf you run multiple sites on the NetSuite ERP, you might want to know that you can use Pacejet to process shipments between your sites with Transfer Order shipping support. From a process perspective, Transfer Orders flow into standard NetSuite Item Fulfillment records as just another order source. Once an Item Fulfillment record is created using your favorite tool or method, you can use Pacejet to pack up the shipment, optionally quote and rate-shop, process shipments, and print paperwork and labels with the same, familiar tools you've been using for Sales Order shipping.
Single Sign-on
If you've ever wanted an easier setup to manage Pacejet users who commonly run interactive transactions out of NetSuite, then single sign-on is a configuration you'll want to evaluate. With single sign-on activated, users who access Pacejet features such as Freight Quoting can be automatically authenticated and signed into Pacejet. The user experience is better, managing users is easier, and setting up single-signon support is a simple configuration change.
Quotes for Estimates and Purchase Orders
With all the articles and video demonstrations on Freight Quotes for Sales Orders and Item Fulfillments, we haven't spent much time describing freight quoting support for NetSuite Estimates and Purchase Orders. If your business uses Estimates to quote jobs or orders for customers, you can leverage standard Pacejet freight quoting features to get an accurate shipping cost as part of the estimate; the carrier/service selected via quoting even flows through to Sales Orders that are converted from Estimates. For NetSuite Purchase Orders, you can now use Freight Quoting to make shipping choices for standard inbound purchase orders, special orders, or even drop-shipments. The cost of shipping has accelerated faster than inflation over the last few years, so integrated freight quoting across more of your core business transactions can be a powerful tool to help you hold the line on cost increases.
Multiple Carrier Account Numbers
In case you've never noticed, Pacejet provides support for attaching multiple carrier account numbers to NetSuite customer records. The setup allows you to add accounts for UPS, FedEx, or other carriers you might use with Pacejet, along with links to address records stored in NetSuite. One benefit of this configuration is the option for your customers to choose among multiple carriers and still use their own carrier account numbers automatically. Another advantage is that Pacejet rate-shopping can still be used to determine a relative difference in shipping costs while using customer account numbers during the actual shipping transactions.
Asynchronous Workbench Sync
Long-time Pacejet and NetSuite users might be familiar with shipping one item fulfillment record at a time and not be aware that Pacejet supports automatic, asynchronous integration with NetSuite Item Fulfillment records. When the Pacejet "workbench sync" feature is activated, item fulfillment records created via any method in NetSuite are automatically transmitted to the Pacejet shipping workbench for processing. Some advantages of this process include more seamless integration with warehouse and scanning solutions that support picking with Pacejet pack and ship features as well as faster scan-and-ship processing support for higher volume environments.
Freight Terms, Ship Via, Ship From Overrides
If you don't wander over to the NetSuite customer record very often, you might be surprised to learn about some controls on the Pacejet tab. The Ship Via Override and Freight Terms Override controls allow you to record carrier and freight billing preferences for customers that are automatically copied to new orders. The Ship From Override control is useful for blind shipping or zone skipping processes where shipping transactions will be managed for an alternate ship from address. As more and more customer demands find their way into shipping preferences, these settings can be a useful way to "set and automate" those customer expectations.
